Welcome to the Department of History website, one of our public faces. The Department provides a diverse and dynamic environment for undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty. Students can explore many pasts through the broad array of courses we provide. Faculty members are enriched through the learning experience as well as students, and faculty bring to teaching the excitement, insight and immediacy of their own research. We have highly active research agendas in this Department, reflected in books, articles, and in the presentation of faculty work in the media. You can find out something about our intellectual life in our speaker series and in the interests and activities of our large group of graduate students. You will be able to see that our undergraduates are engaged in developing the skills that will be formally recognized in the granting of a degree, and in broadening their horizons through the many endeavours of the History Society.
