History Society

 

Welcome to the History Society, 2011-2012!   On behalf of the executive and department, thank you for joining one of the oldest and most active student groups at UWO.  The History Society is an academically based club that operates with close affiliation to the Department of History. The clubs pursues academic as well as social events and gives students the opportunity to interact with those of similar interests and academic goals.

The Mirror

The Mirror is the oldest undergraduate academic history journal in Canada. The Mirror offers undergraduate students the opportunity to publish their work in any area of history. We accept papers from general history classes, but also the smaller history centred faculties such as Women's Studies, Aboriginal Studies, American Studies, etc. Each year, the editorial staff will choose and publish the top undergraduate essays from the vast number of submissions received from across the country.  The deadline to submit an essay to this year's edition of the Mirror is November 3rd, 2011.  Submissions must be written at the undergraduate level and have achieved a grade of 80% (A) or greater.  Original graded copies of your paper, or photocopies of the original, are accepted for submission.

The 2011/2012 Edition of the journal will be available for purchase in March, 2012 for $7.00, or free to all History Society Members. Previous editions of the journal are also available year-round for purchase by contacting uwo.mirror@gmail.com.  If you have any questions about Mirror submissions, please contact our Editor-in-Chief, Collin Bryant at cbryant9@uwo.ca.
