How do I register/pay my tuition?
Late in August, your registration package will be available in Room 2201, Lawson Hall, where you may pick it up upon your arrival. Scholarship funding is applied directly to fees each term. Payment of fees not covered by scholarship funding, where applicable, must be made by the due date (normally within the first week of the term) to avoid a late fee.

What is the cost of fees/tuition for each term and when are the fees due?
Please see
the Registrar's Website

When will I receive my funding?
Most of the funding, mentioned in your funding letter, will be in the form of either a Teaching Assistantship (TA), or a Marking Position or possibly a Research Assistantship (RA). TA, Marking and RA funding are paid monthly, by direct deposit (if account is setup through My Human Resources), on the second last banking day of each month September to April.

The remainder of your funding will be in the form of a Western Graduate Research Scholarship (WGRS).  Scholarship funding will be applied directly to your tuition. A cheque for the balance, where applicable, will be available at the end of the first month of each term.

In the event that you are awarded an External Scholarship (i.e., OGS, SSHRC), please inform the Graduate Assistant (speed@uwo.ca). Recipients of External Scholarships will receive their scholarship in monthly installments. Students should familiarize themselves with the Terms and Conditions of their award and are responsible for tuition payment each term.

What courses will be offered in 2011-12?
Please refer to Courses’ for current and past course offerings. Course Syllabi will be posted online by July 1. MA and MA Public History students normally take three courses in the Fall Term and three courses in the Winter Term. PhD students normally take two courses in the Fall term and two courses in the Winter Term.

When do I know what course I will TA for?

Once you have made your preliminary course selections the Graduate Chair and Undergraduate Chair will make a preliminary appointment based on your schedule and academic background in late-August. (Link to GTA Handbook)

When do I receive my student card and/or bus pass?
There will be a Facts sheet which provides details on your student IDs, bus pass, Society of Graduate Students (SOGS), information, etc.
