The Jewish Studies Program is an inter-disciplinary program that offers courses on Main Campus, at Kings, and at Huron that cover all the major areas of this diverse subject: Jewish History, Bible, Rabbinics, Jewish Thought, Jewish Literature, Jewish Art, Hebrew Language, and Israel Studies. The Program offers undergraduate students an opportunity to pursue a major or a minor, and, in general the chance to learn more about the diverse history and cultural of the Jewish People, past and present. This culture and history covers more than three millennia, from Biblical times to the present, a spans across most of the world, from India to South America and from Australia to Canada.
The inter-disciplinary nature of Jewish Studies allows students to sample multiple forms of knowledge and to understand politics, culture, and society from a variety of perspectives. By combining breadth and depth, the Jewish Studies Program provides a well-rounded Liberal Arts education to any and all interested undergraduates.
