Chris Speed
Graduate Assistant
Chris Speed has been the Graduate Program Assistant (GPA) in the Department of History since
1985. She is responsible for the efficiency of the Graduate Program and serves as a resource person for the
Graduate Chair, Graduate Committee, as well as for the department, university and external contacts.
The administrative duties of the GPA include inquiries, admission procedures, internal, external awards
and scholarships. Chris maintains all of the Masters and Doctoral student records, financial administration of
application fees, Graduate Teaching Assistantship funding and submission of grades, course enrollment,
organizing M.A. and Ph.D. Thesis Oral and Comprehensive Examinations.
