HIS 2141: Western Civilization
History 2141 is an introduction to the main themes in the development of Western civilization: government and law; philosophy and religion; the arts and education; science, technology and industrialization; exploration and the impact of Western culture on other societies. It investigates the expansion of European culture as it evolved from the earliest civilizations of the Middle East through the achievements of its many component national groups to its twentieth-century position of global influence.
