HIS2179: The Two World Wars
Course Description
History 186 is a full-year lecture study of the First and Second World Wars. Key themes examined in this course include military operations and strategy, the social and military impact of modern warfare, leadership and command, the development and impact of technology, and the construction of collective memory during and after the wars.
The first term covers the First World War. Students will write a mid-term examination in class (20%) and a final examination (30%) during the December exam period. The final exam is cumulative for the term.
The second term covers the Second World War. Again, students will write a mid-term examination in class (20%) and a final examination (30%) during the April exam period. The final exam is cumulative for the term.

Evaluation
In the first term,
