Master of Arts Degree

Overview

The M.A. program in Public History consists of 4 basic elements:

1. Three one-term, mandatory Public History courses, which are History 9800A Public History: Theory, History and Practice; History 9801B Group Project; and History 9808A Digital History.
   • Standards' and Regulations: The Fine Print
2. The equivalent of 1.5 courses of your choice, either from the Public History options courses or from the regular M.A. stream
   • The Public History Year: The Fine Print
3. Second Language Credit (normally French 9005) to be completed before the end of the Winter Term
   • Standards and Regulations: The Fine Print
4. History 9802 Public History Internship, completed during the Summer Term
   • Internships: The Fine Print
   • Best Practices in Public History: Public History Internships, prepared by the National Council on Public History
