Statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the introduction of personal sanctions against Canadian citizens

In response to the constantly imposed by the liberal government of J.Trudeau sanctions against representatives of the Russian leadership, the business community, academia and civil society, as well as all those who are objectionable to the official Ottawa, which is taking care of the pro-Nazi regime in Kiev, entry to the Russian Federation is permanently closed for 56 Canadian citizens.
We are talking about individuals who were actively involved through the academic community and pro-Bandera structures in the campaign to praise Hitler’s accomplices from the OUN-UPA and the Galicia division, including the shameful honoring of Nazi Ya in the Canadian Parliament.Gunko, businessmen and heads of companies who are involved in the supply of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as active participants in the Russophobic campaign fanned by the authorities.
At the same time, our countermeasures are selective in nature, unlike the mass “listing” of Russian citizens practiced by official Ottawa, which has initiatively severed almost all interstate ties, and clearly separate the people of Canada from their rulers and those who serve their confrontational course.
We proceed from the fact that the current expansion of the Russian “stop list”, combined with the recent announcement by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation on the recognition of three Canadian NGOs as undesirable[1], which “expertly” and ideologically generate hatred towards our country, will contribute to a better understanding by the team of J.Trudeau’s inevitability of punishment for hostile attacks and complicity in a hybrid war against Russia.
The following is a list of Canadian citizens who are now barred from entering the Russian Federation:
