HIS3813E Public History CityStudio Group Project - Indigenous Veterans Day

Congratulations go out to six public history students for their year-end project being given an Honourable Mention at this year’s City Studio London HUBBUB Student Project Showcase!

Indigenous Veterans DayMax Blair, Kevin Den Dunnen, Cristi Jerez, Randy Parker, Chris Smith, and Joanna Walczak collaborated with the City of London to research the history of Indigenous veterans in Canada and how Indigenous Veterans Day is commemorated in the various regions of the country. This was a capstone project for their HIS3813E: Public History course, which emphasizes putting history to work in the world through Community Engaged Learning. Their project also included recommendations for the City of London as it further designs its official events for Remembrance Week.

Much thanks to our community partners: Eleanor Gebrou, Project Coordinator with City Studio; Alizabeth George-Antone, Indigenous Community Liaison Advisor at the City of London; and Robin Armistead, Manager of Culture Services for the City of London. Included is a selection of infographics used in the showcase.
