This scene shows a family on New Year's Day as they gather in the courtyard of their home to conduct the ritual to welcome all the gods of Heaven and Earth as they visit the home. In the centre of the courtyard an altar has been laid out to hold a tablet inscribed with the words 'This is the seat of heaven and earth'. Children play with fireworks as pigs carrying gold ingots from the heavenly official stream toward the front gate.
