This image represents the stage of a well appointed theatre where the dramas represented on this site were performed. Theatres like this were not uncommon, although it was more usual for people to witness dramas performed on makeshift stages in open air markets and at temple festivals (see ‘Clear River Bridge’). During these occasions theatrical troupes were known to perform virtually non-stop for days on end.
