These paired images show a mother enjoying tea while the qilin delivers her son. The boy holds a book, a scepter and a silver ingot, indicating that he will be educated, fortunate and wealthy. Behind him another boy, possible a brother or possibly the “wealth bringing lad” carries a load of gold and silver.
